Below you will find the selection criteria and nomination form for the Alumni Professional Achievement Award for the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
All nominations will be reviewed by the selection committee. Winners will be notified and invited to attend the College of Arts & Sciences Annual Awards dinner, in association with the fall meeting of the Dean’s Advisory Board.

The College of Arts & Sciences Professional Achievement Award recognizes outstanding alumni who have a high degree of success in their chosen field of endeavor. This category includes creative achievement in the visual/performing arts and scholarly achievement as well as general professional achievement. The trademark of the recipient is a record of notable career accomplishments and a history of outstanding contributions to their profession, discipline, and/or creative pursuits. Up to three Professional Achievement Awards may be given each year, consisting of creative achievement, scholarly achievement, and/or professional achievement. The awards acknowledge their success which brings honor to the College of Arts & Sciences and promotes the value of a liberal arts education.
Eligibility:
-Be an alumnus/alumna of the College of Arts and Sciences
-Achieved a high level of success in their chosen field of endeavor
-Regarded favorably by peers on regional, national, or international levels
-A record of engagement with the College of Arts & Sciences or with one of its departments, schools, or programs is preferred.
Frequency:
Up to three College of Arts & Sciences Professional Achievement Awards may be awarded
in any given year.
Selection Procedure:
There will be a common procedure for nominations for all College of Arts & Sciences awards. Nominations can be made by any person affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences and must be submitted online. The responsibility for completing nomination information lies with the nominator/s.

-Cover letter / nominating statement
-Completed nomination form

-Resume
-Letters of recommendation with contact information (up to three will be accepted)
The awards will be selected by members of the College Award Selection Committee, which consists of one faculty representative from each Division plus Interdisciplinary Programs and the Executive Director of Development. The Committee will submit its recommendations to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences for final approval. Recipients, family members (within reason) and their nominator/s will be invited to the College of Arts & Sciences Annual Awards dinner. If an award recipient cannot attend, a family member will be encouraged to attend in his/her stead.
